چکیده
This paper presents a novel fault diagnosis method for oil-immersed on-load tap changers (OLTC) to address the issue of limited diagnostic accuracy. The proposed combines analysis mechanical vibration signals and high-frequency current from contact pair, aiming improve precision diagnosis. To begin with, an experimental platform was used simulate OLTC contact, enabling collection under different operational states. These underwent wavelet packet transform denoising, followed by correlation investigate their interrelationships across various Features were then extracted analyzed using ensemble empirical mode decomposition Hilbert–Huang transform. Subsequently, support vector machine (SVM) employed analyze both signal signal, facilitating classification state. results demonstrated that joint electrical provided comprehensive representation actual state conditions. SVM achieved error below 10% in predicting values two types, validating efficiency feasibility contacts. findings presented this offer valuable insights on-site practical OLTCs.

Fault Diagnosis of On-Load Tap-Changer Based on Variational Mode Decomposition and Relevance Vector Machine
Abstract: In order to improve the intelligent diagnosis level of an on-load tap-changer’s (OLTC) mechanical condition, a feature extraction method based on variational mode decomposition (VMD) and weight divergence was proposed. The harmony search (HS) algorithm was used to optimize the parameter selection of the relevance vector machine (RVM). Firstly, the OLTC vibration signal was decomposed ...
متن کاملInnovative Transformer Load Tap Changer Control Using Ethernet-Based Communications
This paper describes the design of a load tap changer (LTC) control for up to four parallel transformers using a modified circulating current approach. The LTC control discussed in this paper was implemented using programmable logic, math functions, and IEC 61850 communications over fiber-optic Ethernet. One LTC control is associated with each transformer. The current angle from each LTC contro...
متن کاملSolid - State On Load Tap - Changer for Transformer Using Microcontroller
The on-load tap changing (OLTC) regulators have been widely used since the introduction of electrical energy. They ensure a good regulation of the output voltage in presence of large variations of the input voltage with typical response time from several mili-seconds to several seconds. Earlier mechanical type of on load tap changers were into practice. But they had considerable limitations and...

Recently electronic tap-changer has received more attention due to its quick response, better performance and simpler maintenance compared to the mechanical tap-changer. This paper presents the capability of the distribution transformer equipped with an electronic tap-changer for improving power quality. At this end, the analytical computation for determining the compensating limit of electroni...
متن کاملThermal model of oil power transformers with a tap changer
The paper presents a new method for on-line temperature calculation taking into account change in the tap changer position. The method introduces accurate calculation of the losses, depending on the current, average temperature of the winding, and tap changer position (it affects both Joules (DC) losses and stray losses). The thermal model itself is the common three-body model (for a transforme...
